These are carpeted in the spring by the lovely pink flowers of rockrose. The charming Cap de St-Tropez<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Saint-Tropez<\/em> is a French Riviera<\/em> resort town, located about halfway between Nice<\/em> and Marseille<\/em>. The port and its bay attracted the Parisian intelligentsia and artists long before cinema created the iconic star Brigitte Bardot<\/em> with \u201cAnd God created Woman\u201d.
This half day guided hike starts from a peaceful beach 2 km east of the famous little harbour.\u00a0<\/em>You first walk along the pretty coastal pathway south of the bay known as Golfe de St Tropez<\/em>. This pleasant nature trail then provides, by turns, the crossing of beautiful beaches, passages through rocky areas and walks along large seaside mansions. It also offers, from time to time, outstanding views of the nearby Maures<\/em> mountains and of the Esterel<\/em> red pinnacles. You then turn your back on the sea by climbing a short slope, the only ascent of the whole hike, and follow backroads to head back to your starting point.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Along the Brague river near Antibes<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Come and enjoy the peaceful Brague<\/em> Valley that will distract you from the hectic pace of the C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur<\/em> city life for a few hours. This guided hike is a very beautiful walk along a waterway through woods filled with hazel, ash, alder and willow trees. The river offers scenic waterfalls along the way. Trees, small cascades, stone bridges, all this fairy-tale scenery, make you feel like you walk in an enchanted forest.
From the hilltop village of Biot<\/em> to the picturesque one of Valbonne<\/em>, you pleasantly walk back up the shallow Brague<\/em> river, mostly in the shade of various deciduous trees.<\/p>\n

The C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur balcony on foot,
one of the best things to do in Monaco<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

What a panoramic descent you are about to make and a beautiful hilltop village, \u00c8ze<\/em>, you will visit! You start from the pretty little town of La Turbie<\/em>, at the top of an escarpment that overlooks the Principality of Monaco<\/em>. Then, you follow the crest of the plateau from La Cime de la Forna<\/em>. Up there, you enjoy varied views over the shoreline between Cap d’A\u00efl <\/em>and the Cap Ferrat <\/em>peninsula. Finally, you walk all the way down to the sea, 2,150 feet! Mind-blowing! However, you may naturally have a stopover in the village of \u00c8ze<\/em>, at midway down.<\/span><\/p>\n

Around Saint Jean Cap Ferrat<\/strong><\/h3>\n

This coastal hiking path around\u00a0St Jean Cap Ferrat<\/em>\u00a0peninsula is very quickly accessible from the city of\u00a0Nice. S<\/em>tarting from the town of\u00a0Beaulieu sur Mer<\/em>, it offers a short and pleasant getaway from the bustle of the French Riviera resorts. While walking all the way, as closely as possible to the sea, you marvel at the beauties that nature has so simply created for us: especially the sublime contrasts between the blues of the sea and sky, the whites of the rocks and the greens of the pines and garrigue<\/em> shrubs.
If you choose to start from the\u00a0Jean Cap Ferrat<\/em>\u00a0marina, your local guide will take you on an one-hour shorter walk.<\/p>\n

Peille and Peillon : two pretty hilltop villages
(Half-day and Full Day hikes)
<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Within a half hour\u2019s drive from Monaco\u00a0<\/em>and from\u00a0Menton<\/em>,\u00a0Peille<\/em>\u00a0is, along with\u00a0Peillon,<\/em> among the most typical medieval fortified villages of the French Riviera hinterland. Perched on top of craggy outcrops overlooking a deep valley, both of them have changed little since the Middle Ages: they come in a mass of narrow little paved streets and steps, winding up and down through arches and vaulted passageways.
Along walking paths used by cattle herds for three millenia, rosemary, thyme and other herb scents remind you that you are under a Mediterranean climate. The nature walk from one village to the other lasts 2 hours; the alternate route that you follow when you take the full day hike is a bit more challenging.<\/p>\n

The Est\u00e9rel red rocks near Cannes<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Only 10km from the\u00a0Promenade de la Croisette\u00a0<\/em>in\u00a0Cannes<\/em>, under the supervision of your local guide, you can start delightful nature hikes. During this one, you take on the\u00a0Pic de l\u2019Ours\u00a0<\/em>(1,627ft), one of the peaks of the\u00a0Massif de l\u2019Est\u00e9rel<\/em>. Volcanic red crags form these gorgeous hills that are covered by oaks and pines whose dark colors sharply contrast with. From the heights, you enjoy a beautiful panorama over the colorful hills all around. And, you can see, in the distance,\u00a0La Napoule<\/em>\u00a0bay and the city of\u00a0Cannes<\/em>, on one side, and\u00a0Fr\u00e9jus\u00a0<\/em>bay, on the other.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The peaceful beauty of Porquerolles<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

To get an idea of the true riches of the three islands off the coast of\u00a0Hy\u00e8res<\/em>, near\u00a0Toulon<\/em>, just remember that they are called\u00a0Les Iles d\u2019Or<\/em> (the Golden Islands): the unspoiled splendor of their seascapes is unique.\u00a0Porquerolles<\/em>, the closest to the continent, only a 10-minute boat ride away, nestles a charming tiny village. But, its treasure is the beauty of a craggy coast made of steep cliffs and secluded creeks, bathed in turquoise waters. And you reach those idyllic spots by hiking with your local guide through the typical Mediterranean vegetation.\u00a0 And what must be remembered is that blooming starts during late winter on\u00a0Porquerolles<\/em>\u00a0island. The balcony of the C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur<\/strong><\/h3>\n

This is probably the most exceptional walking route above the coast of the French Riviera. Offering lovely nature sceneries, it joins the three very ancient hilltop villages of\u00a0La Turbie, Gorgio<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Saint-Agn\u00e8s<\/em> that overlook the cities of Monaco, Roquebrune-Cap-Martin<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Menton<\/em>, respectively. Throughout the day, ascents will alternate with descents and fabulous views of the Riviera, in the foreground, and of the Alps, in the distance, will accompany you.\u00a0<\/p>\n

to the top of Baou des Blancs<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Saint-Paul de Vence <\/em>has been for long a source of inspiration for many artists from all over the world. Not far from Nice<\/em>, the Proven\u00e7al village is exquisitely perched on a hill overlooking the surrounding countryside and the sea. After a visit through its narrow cobbled streets, your local guide leads you to the charming town of Vence<\/em>, 3 miles northwards. From there, you follow a circular route that climbs up to the rocky Baou des Blancs<\/em>. This peak rises high above the town, offering a breathtaking 360\u00b0 view over the coast. A beautiful hike that is no small feat !

Monaco and surrounding villages & towns:
\u00c8ze, La Turbie, Cap d’Ail<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Starting from the seaside at\u00a0Eze Bord de Mer<\/em>, towered over by the Rev\u00e8re Plateau<\/em>\u00a0(2,200 ft), this hike first takes you to the hilltop medieval village of Eze<\/em>, following the Nietzsche Trail<\/em>. After strolling through its narrow streets and small squares, under the leadership of your local guide, you climb up to the plateau from which you can enjoy one of the most outstanding panorama of the coast, with the Cap Ferrat<\/em> peninsula jutting out into the Mediterranean. From the Roman town of La Turbie<\/em>, you quickly discover another breathless view, totally different : the Principalty of Monaco<\/em>, with its high rises and its famous rock, le Rocher<\/em>, where stands the Prince\u2019s Palace. Finally, a climb down to Cap d\u2019Ail<\/em>\u00a0then allows you to end this scenic day walking along the beaches to the center of Monaco<\/em>. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
